Rest

After a busy week of singing the Duke for the last time, and auditions in Basel and London I am taking time to rest and relax. Very important for the soul and voice.

Covent Garden

Off to ROH for a corporate concert then workshopping a musical for 2 days and then singing il duca. Strange and varied life of a freelance musician.

Rigoletto

Learnt the ENO translation and am covering the run, then it’s back to grange park for 2 more perfs in Italian . Great music!

End of season

All finished for 2008/9 season. Spent a few days in Aldeburgh workshopping some new operas and final concert was an unpaid gig to raise money for a toilet to be installed in a lovely church in Sussex. Must open Rakes Progress soon. Happy summer!

Rigoletto to France

Really enjoyed singing the duke in Rigiletto but it was the hardest role I have sung to date. Off to Aujols in the south of France to sing at a music festival and the to Aldeburgh for some workshopping?!

Singin my opening night of rigoletto tomorrow?! What a fantastic opera and who gets all the tunes? Me!
